Summary of our ordering process

If you are interested in purchasing freezer beef from us the first step is to let us know by putting in your reservation for a quarter, half, or whole steer.  Once the steer is of age we will deliver the live steer to Shreve Meats for butchering and processing.  We will notify you of the butcher date prior to delivery.    You will then need to contact Shreve Meats and let them know how you would like your meat processed.  They will then notify you when it is ready for pickup.

All orders will be taken in person by or over the phone by Hottle Farms.

Payment will be made when you pick up the meat at Shreve Meats.  You will write two checks.  One check to us for the meat and one check to Shreve Meats for the processing.

Detailed ordering process

  1. You will reserve the amount of freezer beef that you would like to purchase.

  2. We will confirm your reservation.

  3. We will notify you 1-2 weeks prior to the butcher date.

  4. We will deliver steer to the butcher.

  5. You will call the butcher to get the hanging weight and notify them of your desired processing.

  6. The butcher will call you when your meat is ready.

  7. Your payment is due when you pick up the processed meat.

 

1.    You will reserve the amount of freezer beef that you would like to purchase.

·        View the available steer to purchase on the Availability tab of hottbeef.com.

·        You can reserve your beef in person, over the phone, or by email.

·        You can also just let us know that you want the next available.

·        This is your commitment to purchase.

2.    We will confirm your reservation.

·        Our acknowledgement to you of your reservation.

3.    We will notify you 1-2 weeks prior to the butcher date.

·        We will notify you as a reminder about two weeks in advance of the butchering date.

4.    We will deliver steer to the butcher.

5.    You will call the butcher to get the hanging weight and notify them of your desired processing.

·        The hanging weight will determine the total amount due.

·        You can process the meat any way that you like.  Choose one of our basic cut packages or specify your own cuts.  See the "Quarter Example" page for more information on this.

6.    The butcher will call you when your meat is ready for pickup.

7.    Your payment is due when you pick up the processed meat.

·        Two checks will be written.  One for the processing and one for the meat.  Both will be given to Shreve Meats.

·        Payments can also be mailed or paid in person to prior to pickup if desired.
